Walking down from the Peak via Barker Road, the other amazing view from the Peak at Victoria Peak Garden, Daniela and Dinel at my spot at the Peak on Lugard Road, a gorgeous white Aston Martin, seeing a US$1,000 bill for the first time, a stormy day in Hong Kong - rare in October, the new sign at St. Johns Cathedral and inflatable raft training for Hong Kong Marine Police Officers in Stanley.

Walking down from the Peak via Barker Road, essential in the cooler months
In the cooler Autumn and Winter months walking down from the Peak is a popular thing to do, I do buck the trend somewhat as I do not do the popular route which is to walk down Old Peak Road, personally speaking it is not that interesting and it is very steep.
I love to walk down via Barker Road and Chatham Path, it is a glorious and visually interesting route with some magnificent views along the way such as the above image - as my tours are private and personal you can request this, I am more than happy to do this.

The view from Victoria Peak Garden, The Peak
The view is magnificent isn't it ? ...but remember this is not a city view... many visitors to Hong Kong walk up the very steep Mt. Austin Road thinking that by going higher they will get a much better city view... quite the mistake actually.
If you follow Mt. Austin Road to Victoria Peak Garden which takes 40 minutes of intense walking you will get a fabulous view of the South Side of Hong Kong Island, NOT the city view, whoops!
Still, it is a perfectly pleasant mistake to make as it is really quite lovely up there particularly on a lovely sunny day.

Daniela and Dinel at my spot at the Peak
Every tour is different which is why I have the best job in the world! - Daniela and Dinel are American with Romanian heritage and like a lot of my clients they have a fascinating background.
It was my pleasure to spend the day with them and show them the very best of Hong Kong.
Thank you.

The awesome white Aston Martin super car.
.........it is a simply magnificent sports car, some cars look really great in white and this is one of them, I do love the Aston Martin brand and I have taken to going to their website and clicking on the link where you can here the car engine starting up, a menacing growl does not do the phrase justice, brilliant!

The US$1,000 Bank Note
My clients Daniela and Dinel threw me a curve ball by showing me a US$1,000 bank note from 1934, I actually got to touch it on the 268 steps leading up to the Big Buddha on Lantau Island.
A real piece of history and I was very excited.

A Hong Kong Typhoon.
This is the view from my balcony looking at the Airport bridge with Hong Kong Island in the distance.
I can get a bit blase about typhoons having being so many in 45 years but the one today October 15th 2017 was a little odd as it was very late in the season and it basically collided with another weather system so it was very windy but not that wet.
As is usual Hong Kong closed down for the day and we suffered very little damage.

St. Johns Cathedral Hong Kong
Finally we have a new sign at the Cathedral and about time as the old sign was showing it's age and was very hard to read.
I am a big fan of visiting St. Johns, it is simply magnificent and steeped in Hong Kong Colonial history and the location is just lovely - I am currently reading a very thick book on the history of St. Johns and a jolly good read it is (sorry, I sound like Yoda!)

The Classic new McLaren super car
This is one lovely car but I have to admit this is not my favourite colour, McLarens look awesome in white, orange and lime green!

The Marine Police running a training session
I am a big fan of the Hong Kong Police Force, Hong Kong is one of the safest cities in the world and a lot of this is down to our incorruptible and very professional Police Force.
This was an interesting 10 minutes watching a bunch of young Marine Policemen learning how to dock a very fast inflatable raft.... like I said professional.

The West Kowloon Cultural District
... embarrassing is the word you would apply to this monumental Government fiasco which is finally taking shape in front of ICC (home to the Ritz Carlton Hotel) in West Kowloon.
Hard to believe that idea was basically put forward and approved in 1998 (!) and it is only now taking shape, this is what happens when projects are run by committees and consensus is the institutional buzzword., what a bunch of muppets.
The good news is that when it finally comes on stream it will be world class.
Oh my golly gosh, the simply amazing Pagani Hypercar, hand made in Italy
